Description

  • High thermal stability
  • Low noise
  • Versions for BNC & threaded head stage attachment

The new Stable-tip electrode holders do away with the final instability link in the electrophysiology experimental set-up. We've taken a thermally stable base material and coated it with alumina oxide. This coating has two benefits, first it is non-conductive so the holder does not act like a electrical antenna, it is also very resistant to corrosion. Under conditions of a high resistance electrode seal (gigaseal), the ST series electrode holder has a noise level of 0.79-0.8pA RMS (5kHz filter) while polycarbonate was 0.78-0.79pA (reported using an Axopatch 200B in whole-cell mode). The base material has a thermal expansion coefficient of 23um/m-degreeC vs a polycarbonate holder with a thermal expansion coefficient of 70um/m-degreeC , more than 3 times greater in a perfect thermal environment! When ordering be sure to specify the head-stage amplifier and pipette glass diameter you are using. The Stable-tip electrode holders come with 1 each of the following; AG-wires, wire seals and 10 of  the appropriate pipette seals.
